What does a cardiac nurse do?
A cardiac nurse develops the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and electrocardiographs(ECGs) and diagnose and action abnormalities appropriately. Clinical competencies are required and include advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), temporary and permanent pacing and Intra aortic balloon pump (IABP). Cardiac care nurses care for patients with angina, chest pain and numerous other conditions. A priority while treating patients is the commencement of cardiac rehabilitation and education programs to assist patients to resume a healthy lifestyle.
How do I become a cardiac nurse?
